Doing my own nails one digit at a time.
Sorry for the long time between posts. I still paint my nails but my camera sometimes refuses to cooperate with me. Hopefully I will get one soon.
I wanted to throw out a quick bottle shot comparison between three polishes. Sally Hansen Blue It, Wet N Wild Root of All Evil, and Sinful Colors Midnight Blue are all dupes.
The base color is two coats of Germanicure by OPI. I used one coat of the flakies. They are Twisted from Finger Paints.
This is a gem! A little bit of back story: This is from the Fall 2011 collection. I wanted this color initially but I grabbed Bronze Ablaze first because that color was more unique. I go back to grab Ruby Rush and it wasn’t there. I went on an expedition looking for it but could never find it again. They started popping up at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago and I actually found it. Plus it was a dollar.
This is two coats of Ruby Rush, a purple leaning red. If you are careful you can get away with wearing one coat.
Here is another pretty from Color Club’s Take Wing collection. This is 3 coats of Sky High, a blue glass flecked polish. It does have a beautiful purple duochrome effect in certain lighting/angles. Beware: this does have the potential to stain without proper base coat coverage.
I am still working on getting pictures of my manis. Some days they are not presentable. :-(
This is two coats of Sally Hansen Gunmetal, a bluish grey shimmer. It is topped with one coat of L’oreal Silver Sparkle, a polish that has silver shimmer and iridescent glitter. Silver Sparkle really takes over the mani.
The inventor of the format pronounced it as jif. Just sayin’.
I wanted to use a cat themed polish in honor of Selina Kyle. The only thing I had was Cougar Attack by Spoiled. Cougar Attack is a brown jelly polish packed with copper glitter. I used two coats of Cougar Attack over one coat of Nirvana by Sinful Colors.
I am sorry for the long absence. I have not been able to take a decent picture lately.
I decided to do a gradient using three polishes from Color Club’s Take Wing collection. The yellow is Daisy Does It, the orange is Sparkle and Soar, and the pink is Wing Fling. They have great coverage. I then topped this mani with one coat of China Glaze’s Black Mesh.
I just couldn’t take a decent picture of this mani. I started with two coats of Revlon Impulsive, a purple creme. Then I added a thick coat of Blackheart Deceit, a flakie glitter polish in a slightly pink base. I picked this polish up at Hot Topic. The polish comes in a skull bottle. I topped it all off with one coat of Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love, to make it matte-fied.
This is two coats of Harvest Moon by China Glaze. It is from The Hunger Games set, and it represents district 9.
I wanted a bright color to wear over this past weekend. I just now got around to photographing it.
I used two coats of Folly, a reddish pink/pinkish red creme, by Sinful Colors. It was hard to photograph and I had to play with GIMP a lot to get it somewhat close. I topped it with Big City Dazzle by New York Colors. Big City Dazzle has micro glitter in pink, blue, and gold in a clear base.
This is three coats of I Like The Nightlife by Icing. It is a smurfy blue polish that has aqua blue glitter suspended in it and a purple duochrome flash. The purple is much stronger in real life.
Impulse buy! I saw the new Orly Flash Glam FX display at Sally the other day and I knew I had to pick something up. I grabbed Can’t Be Tamed. Can’t Be Tamed has big hex purple glitter and small round gunmetal glitter. This is two coats of it over one coat of Ebony Loves Chris by Wet N Wild.
I took four colors that only look good over dark colors and dabbed them on with Saran Wrap. I started with one coat of Ebony Hates Chris by Wet N Wild. The colors I dabbed on are as follows: Sky Dive by Maybelline, a blue shimmer; Mist You by Sally Hansen, a lilac shimmer; Bali Mist by Sinful Colors, a pink shimmer; and Make Me Holo by Essence, a blue shimmer.
